Экструдер для резины, появившийся в 1870 году, представлял собой экструдер с горячей подачей. Резиновая смесь, которую он подает, должна быть горячей плавки, подача должна быть однородной, стабильной и постоянной, а температура материала поддерживается на уровне 50–70 °C. Применяется при производстве шин для экструзии различных типов протекторов, различных видов клеев, а также для экструзии резины и резины при производстве шлангов, кабелей и других резиновых изделий.
